Description
There has been a subtle and increasing change in the theology of the Christian Church today. Our taste for anything psychology appears to be insatiable, and has led the Church, with disastrous consequences down the road of accommodation and compromise. Today's theology in many a church is a hybrid, that is, a blend of two antithetical worldviews, in which what is popular and psychological eclipses sound biblical thinking. The therapeutic model, which has replaced the biblical, has no place for the idea that man was made in the image of God and is to be restored to likeness to his Creator. The book is a call to lay aside our failed human reasoning and return to the sufficient words of God found in Scripture.
Author David Tyler is the Director of Gateway Biblical Counseling and Training Center in Fairview Heights, IL. He has written several books critiquing self-esteem teaching and about the problems incurred when we replace the idea of "sin" with "sickness".
