Description
John Owen was born in 1616, and grew up in a quiet Oxfordshire parsonage, entering Oxford University at the age of 12. He became one of the most prominent pastors and theologians in English history. His published works include a total of 24 large volumes.
Among those writings, probably none are more famous than his The Death of Death in the Death of Christ. This volume, Life by His Death, presents that book in a current-English, easier to read edition. It has been suggested by many that no one has ever excelled Owen's thesis in this book about the atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Owen served as chaplain to Oliver Cromwell for many years, and he preached in Parliament numerous times. He was married and had eleven children.
