An old hardcover classic, at near Half Price! The daughter of Edward Payson and a woman of rare character, the life of Elizabeth Prentiss has been captured well here in her own writings, a credit to her husband's diligent collection. This is a rare Christian biography, revealing the character of a woman who loved God and sought to help others love Him through her letters, hymns and service.
Filled with the correspondence of Elizabeth Prentiss, showing the same personality we read of in Stepping Heavenward. A valuable reprint which chronicles this 19th-century Christian woman's faith and wide influence.
"I am delighted to hear of the publication of this rare volume of the Life and Letters of Elizabeth Prentiss. We greatly need more biographies of godly women, and this work is certainly in that category." -- Iain Murray
"Reading Christian biographies has had an immeasurable influence in my own life and spiritual growth. To be able to see the hand of God, guiding, correcting, and sustaining one who trusts Him has encouraged me to believe that true discipleship is possible not only for the great figures of the Bible but for us ordinary folks as well. More Love to Thee reveals the character of a woman who loved God and earnestly sought to help others to love Him." -- Elisabeth Elliot
Elizabeth Prentiss (1818-1878) was the youngest daughter of one of the great revival preachers of the early 1800's, the Rev. Edward Payson of Portland, Maine. The keynote of her religious character is struck in her famous hymn, More Love to Thee, O Christ. May this reprinted volume induce many Christian women to imitate her faith in our dark days.
