This book is an easier-to-read version of The Plague of Plagues: A Treatise on Sin by the Puritan Ralph Venning. His book, first published in 1669, was written in the aftermath of the Great Plague of London. This modern adaptation, prepared by John Appleby and Peter King, brings Venning's message to a modern generation which need to hear the serious Biblical view of sin to counteract the casual ideas we have about sin today. It's a call to take sin seriously, and an invitation to find the remedy in Jesus Christ.
Puritan Ralph Venning (1621-1674) served as lecturer in St Olave's, Southwark, until the Great Ejection in 1662. An outstanding preacher, he was author of several books, of which this is his best known.
