A new and unique Bible reading plan! Designed to give significantly more exposure to the New Testament. Most plans for daily Bible reading start in Genesis and work consecutively through the Bible, resulting in NO reading in the New Testament until late August! -- not a healthy pattern.
This schedule's readings can be completed in a mere 20 minutes per day and, in one year, will take the reader through the New Testament four(4) times!, the Old Testament once, and the book of Psalms twice. Click on "Additional Information" below for lots more information about this unique schedule.
A Bible-reading schedule with numerous original and unique features:
- Rather than go front to back through the whole Bible, this schedule mingles readings in Old and New Testaments at all times, providing daily time in each.
- Takes the reader through the Old Testament once/year, the Psalms twice/year, but the New Testament four times/year.
- Keeps the reader in one of the 4 gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) almost daily. Constant exposure to our Lord Jesus' words is vital.
- The schedule's pace slows down in summer months and in December, to allow for heavier demands on time and travel schedules.
- Also includes "catch-up" days, in the (likely) event that you slip behind. The "catch-up" days are frequently arranged in connection with holidays and other busy times of year.
- The Old Testament contains 929 chapters. So, the reader is taken through the entire OT in a year by merely reading 2-3 chapters daily.
- The New Testament contains 260 chapters. So, the reader is taken through the entire NT, four times in a year, by reading an average of 3 chapters daily.
