Description
2-volume paperback set, the only publication of this valuable work in print at this time.
Originally published in 1677 under the title Demonologia Sacra - this set treats the biblical evidence relating to Satan, his position in the world and his method of tempting believers and unbelievers. As such, it is a masterful treatise on demonology. The author Richard Gilpin (1625 - 1700) was a nonconformist theologian and physician in England. In this work this kindly "physician of the soul" describes more fully than any other writer the devious and deceitful ways which Satan employs to ensnare unwary "sons of Adam." Chapters are clear, direct and vital.
Every Christian must know his enemy, the roaring lion Satan - know him well enough to be ready for his attacks and prepared to stand firm against him. These volumes explain much of Satan's methodology of temptation, and even include a study of the temptation of Christ.
